Wall Flower

(Alice + Olivia Natalee Print Sheath Dress, Karen Walker sunglasses, Zara shoes)

This dress, part of Alice + Olivia's spring collection, was surprisingly easy to wear. The dress's form fitted cut brought out a sense of elegance, and minimized the otherwise, would-be, "loud" sensation.

I love fashion for many reasons. One of the main reasons being it never seizes to inspire me to evolve my own personal style. This dress was a perfect example. I have always loved color, but bright prints were never really my thing. But I suppose I should never say never. Because it was not even two weeks ago that I had a love at first sight experience with this gorgeous piece. The best part was, the fascination did not fade one bit even as the days went on. Here's a toast to finding a new love!

Running Errands

(Theory sweater, American Eagle shirt, 7 for all mankind jeans, Jeffrey Campbell boots, Karen Walker Sunny, Tory Burch bag, Hermes scarf, Essie polish - Sweet Talker)

A few quick shots of an outfit I wore this past weekend while running around town doing errands. Yes, I may have intentionally interchanged running errands with shopping. Opps. This Tory Burch tote is everything I expected it to be, and then some. Pretty certain that I can drive down the cost per wear on this baby by the end of summer.

I have acquired some new additions to add to my daily staple this past week. The Karen Walker sunny that I can't seem to put down. Despite the bold print, it just seems to go along with everything I wear. So amazing!

Over the weekend, I checked off an item on my spring must have list, a white watch. I saw the DKNY watch when I was out shopping, and knew it was what I have been searching for. Now, I giggle a little every time I look down at my wrist.

Something major happened over the weekend. Someone extremely important in my life got engaged! I won't go into detail because I am a firm believer that some things should be kept private. But I just wanted to say, it was an out of world experience to share such joy with someone whom I adore so much. I am so incredibly happy for the newly engaged couple, and I can't wait to be a part of the beautiful journey they are about to embark on. Talk about starting off the week on an amazing note. Here's to a Fabulous Tuesday!

Splurge and Steal

Since the beginning of the year, my mind has been wrapped around the idea of finding the perfect tote. Not purely out of the need to bring my life around with me everywhere I go, but also because a perfect structured tote is the perfect accessory. For weeks, at every chance, I was browsing on the internet and all the different stores for that tote. I searched high and low and was ultimately stunned by the beauty simply known as Prada's Saffiano Lux Double Zip Tote. I am pretty certain that my jaw dropped at first sight when I saw it in person.  Funny how my jaw dropped again when I saw the price tag! Needless to say, I did not bring the beauty home with me that day.

Disappointed? Yes. Defeated? No. I continued my search while I lusted over the Prada tote. It must have taken me a few more weeks of constant browsing through the internet and stores, before my eyes were caught by Tory Burch's Robinson tote. Sure, the bag was not the Saffiano tote, but I must say, the color, shape, design and functionality came extremely close to it. The best part of it all was it had a price tag that I was comfortable treating myself to (for a very good celebratory reason of course).

It did not take long for me to decide to bring home the Robinson tote. The bag has various compartments which fits my needs and (a lot of) stuff perfectly. All in all, I am so happy for the purchase. Do I still think the Prada Saffinao bag is gorgeous, absolutely. But for now, I am loving every single second with my new addition, the Tory Burch's Robinson Double Zipper tote.

Note: I purchased my tote through Shopbop, and I am already eyeing this little beauty here. After-all, a woman can never have too many shoes or bags.

Raindrops are falling on my head

(J. Crew coat, H&M dress, Sam Edelman boots, Karen Walker Perfect Day Sunnies, Pinkyotto bag, JewelMint ring)

I have been obsessed with the combination of rain and train tracks for a while... just don't ask me why. Today presented the perfect opportunity to do something about it. I have always loved rainy days. A few things that add to the joy of rain drops are my countless booties, a warm coat, and this clear umbrella. Perhaps it is just me, but every time I stand under this umbrella I feel quite invincible in my little clear bubble. It also enhances the sense of romance for whatever reason. I highly recommend trying it.

The train track on a raining day turned out to be just as perfect as I had envisioned. In between bouncing up and down the tracks, and making sure we weren't going to be run over by an oncoming train (half joking only), this was the most fun I've had on a rainy day in a while.

Love Triangle

(Foreign Exchange tweed jacket, old white t-shirt, American Eagle shorts, Love Triangle bag from Pinkyotto, Thirfted pin, Theyskens' Theory shoes, JewelMint star bound ring, Essie Geranium nail polish)

There is something so effortless about a tweed jacket. I can practically wear it with anything and look polished and well put together without really trying. It's just the thing I need in my life. I came home from work, and quickly changed into this outfit before heading out to catch a movie. I kept my day outfit (jacket, tights, pin and shoes), and the only thing I swapped was my little black dress to a more relaxed white-t and my jean shorts. Just like that, I was ready to head out and enjoy the evening. Of course, my outfit wouldn't be complete without my two recent additions, the Love Triangle bag that I can't seem to put down, and the gorgeous star bound ring I recently purchased from JewelMint.

The first day back to work after a long vacation is never easy, and the rest of the week is shaping out to be a very busy one (don't get me started with the number of deadlines that I need to meet by the end of the week). Luckily for me, I had this past Sunday to recharge from my adventure filled vacation (check out my vacation poster "here"), catch up on chores, and hang out with family.

With the official beginning of Spring starting today, I can't wait to fully update my wardrobe to all the fun bold colors and pretty prints. Hmm, I'm pretty sure I just talked myself into a shopping trip this weekend just now. Love how that worked out. Here's to a Fabulous Tuesday and Happy first day of Spring!

During my visit to New York last week, I came across the most adorable boutique in the Nolita area, called Pinkyotto. My boyfriend's sister introduced me to the store and I was absolutely hooked. I purchased a gorgeous clutch from the store the first day I visited, and wasted no time to put it to use for a dinner date with friends that very night. I loved everything that I saw at the store, so much so that I decided to go back for a second visit the very next day. This time, I left the store with a mod-inspired dress, a ring and square belt, and a blue zebra scarf. The spring collection at Pinkyotto was ultra feminine with gorgeous bold prints. The pieces are versatile and easy to dress up or down. I only wish I had enough space in my suitcase to bring home the entire collection. Luckily, I overheard that Pinkyotto may be opening up a store in San Francisco soon! I know I've got my fingers crossed. Until then, they recently started an online store, so be sure to check out their website here.

Weeklong Getaway

A while ago, the boyfriend and I decided that we needed a trip to visit the East Coast. Since neither of us had ever visited Washington DC or Philadelphia, we decided to take a week long trip to explore DC, Philly and top it off with New York. The game plan was to fly into DC on Monday afternoon, take the Amtrak to Philly on Wednesday, and finish the trip off by staying in NYC from Thursday through Saturday afternoon. Trust me when I say that we are very efficient people. Here are some photo captures of my week long trip, which was packed with lots of walking, sight seeing, museums tours, delicious food, catching up with friends, and of course, shopping.

The Eastern Market in DC.

Georgetown Cupcake. It was every bit delicious and wonderful as people made it out to be, and then some. If you are obsessed with the red velvet cupcake like me, you must try one from this place.

I absolutely adored Philly. It was packed with so much history that I felt like the mere one day visit did not do it justice. However, we visited as many places as we could in that one day, and left feeling rather accomplished. Until next time.

It was my first time visiting Grand Central Station in New York and I was secretly hoping that the people walking by me would suddenly burst into a flash mob performance. Wouldn't that have been awesome?

Boyfriend snapped this picture out on the street while I was busy browsing the Rag and Bone store in Soho. Speaking of which, I need to do a quick shout out to the boyfriend for having all the patience in the world with my need to peek inside of every single store in Manhattan. Thank you.

Probably one of the best ways to end our week long trip was a twenty plus dollar taxi ride to the upper east side, just so I can bring home a little piece of heaven; the Laduree macarons. These macarons were definitely worth the anticipation and that cab ride.

Afterwards, we strolled down Madison Avenue where I swear I could spend yet another week just going in and out of all the gorgeous stores. Luckily, for my boyfriend and my wallet, I was getting a little homesick after being away for so long, and I couldn't wait to get home. I have loved this little trip of ours, jam packed with tons of activities and tons more of wonderful memories.

Strollin by the Marina

I have always appreciated photography, in particular the fashion aspect of it. It truly is an amazing art I still have yet to master. For my trip to the East Coast, my dad generously allowed me to borrow his Leica X1 digital camera so I can capture my adventure through a different lens, figuratively and literally. I just can't wait to put this baby to use!

This is an exciting and promising week! Not only do I get the week off work, but I also get to travel to the East Coast to visit some friends and for some much needed R&R.
The weather in the East coast for this week is ranging from mid 40's to high 70's. Talk about a packing challenge. To add to the drama, I was determined to pack everything I need into one single carry-on suitcase, as well as leave enough room for my pending shopping spree. Sometimes, even I am impressed with my own sense of ambition.
I will be sure to do another post later on during the week, as proof that I was able to neatly pack all my belongings into the suitcase.

Morning light

(Zara open back t-shirt and court shoes with asymmetric heel, J Brand boyfriend jeans, Hermes bracelet, Balenciaga bag)

Currently fighting a flu, which is extremely unfortunate since today is the start of my week-long vacation. Go figure. My plan is to hibernate in bed from now till Monday morning, which is when I'm scheduled to fly out to the east coast. Fingers crossed that I will be semi-recovered by then.

I got this gorgeous top from Zara the other day. In person, the shirt looked even more gorgeous than I had imagined. I paired it with my trusted boyfriend jeans to tone down the euphoric feel. The nude pump from Zara was THE perfect heel for Spring, Summer, and Winter.... Brilliant. I have to say, my love for Zara in general is growing faster than I had original anticipated. It earned "home screen" status on my iPhone. Yes, I'm officially a Zara-addict.
