Fabulous Workday

(Theory sweater, BCBG Maxazria dress, J Crew belt, Boutique9 shoes, Loeffler Randall bag, Karen Walker sunnies, Michael Kors watch, Urban Outfitter necklace)

I wasn't planning on sharing this little "project" that I am working on, but after giving much thought, I guess it's probably a good idea to share it on the blog to help keep me accountable. So, I have decided to give myself a little styling challenge, and try to mix and match outfits 30 days in a row without repeating! Eeek! This doesn't mean I can just go out and buy 30 brand new outfits and call it a day (but boy would that be nice). Instead, I hope this little project of mine will help me revisit some of the pieces that I have neglected, but it will also challenge me to better learn to pair patterns, colors, prints, textures, etc. To help keep me accountable, I have created a Tumblr account to keep track of my daily outfits. So, please feel free to check it out and let me know what you guys think!

On a side note, I wanted to introduce two of my new found loves, the Loeffler Randall rider bag, and the Karen Walker super duper strength sunnies. Swoooooon.

Tuesday Favorites

(Left to Right, Top to Bottom: new love from Sole Society, favorite new neon flower pants, brunch at Plow, my cloud, Sunday organizing, dessert with friends at the Ice Cream Bar, my new bag obsession, outfit of the day, gorgeous flowers)

Through no intentional design, and despite the ridiculously busy week I've had, I was somehow able to catch up with many of my friends this past week/weekend. Sometimes, I get so busy with work that I forget how great spending quality time with friends can be and how hard I can laugh around them. These past few days were the perfect reminder of how blessed I am to have the friends that I do in my life. Thank you guys. I hope you all have a Fabulous Tuesday!

Is it Fall yet?

(Olive and Oak sweater, H&M pants and necklace, Sole Society shoes, Elizabeth and James ring, Karen Walker sunnies, Celine bag, Stylenomics Essie Polish)

Over the weekend, the weather finally cooled down a bit. I am not sure if this is the start of fall, or if the temperature will spike again, but I am savoring every moment of it. We met up with some friends at Plow in the city for brunch and some much needed catching up. I was so glad that I put on one of my thicker knits, because boy was it chilly.

Fall is without a doubt my favorite season. While it's still too early to break out all of my favorite fall pieces, I am slowly planning the wardrobe transition. Light colored comfy knits are the perfect weekend transitional items in my opinion. Another way I am getting ready for the fall is by changing up my nail polish choices from bright colors to darker colors like a couple of Essie's new fall collection Stylenomics and Skirting the Issue. Okay, can Fall please come sooner?

Full Bloom

(Banana Republic blouse, Sabo Skirt pants, Zara heels, Madewell hat, Kate Spade sunnies, Celine bag, H&M ring)

When I first spotted this neon flower print trouser online, it was love at first sight. That's a bit out of the ordinary as I typically don't feel this strongly about such brightly printed pants. I was so sure that it must have been a "phase" that I decided to sit on the idea for a few days before I finally caved and bought the pants. The neon floral print is actually more beautiful in person, and I couldn't stop smiling when I received the package. I took the pants out for a "test drive" last night on our date night. I paired it with a simple white blouse, black Zara heels and my navy Celine bag. Did I also mention that the pants was a perfect fit for me? That almost never happens (unless it's from J Brand)! Pretty sure as I am writing this post, I am simultaneously browsing and plotting what other gorgeous items from Sabo Skirt  I can add to my collection.

Tuesday Favorites

(Left to Right, Top to Bottom: Classic car show, cell phone case, gorgeous sunset, my new pet bear phone case, new beauty from Sole Society, Spooner Lake, Sand Harbor shadow, a perfect drink to end the night, ice cream for dessert in Tahoe)

This week, the focus for me is all about productivity. After last week, I know it can only get better. I'm sharing some of the pictures that make me smile and will keep me inspired for the rest of the week. With that said, I hope you all have a Fabulous Tuesday!

Grey on the rocks

(T by Alexander Wang dress, Kate Spade sunnies <similar here>)

I bought this T by Alexander Wang marred drape back dress from Shopbop a couple months back while it was on sale. I haven't worn it since I bought it because there was never the right occasion or temperature for that matter. When I was packing for a weekend trip to Tahoe, the dress somehow jumped out at me. It probably made no sense to bring this dress along out to nature, but I did anyway. I had hoped to take some pictures while we were staying in Tahoe, but the first night we got there, we were greeted by a brief Thunderstorm and hail. So we were skeptical as to whether the weather would be friendly to us during our visit. Turned out it was just perfect the rest of the weekend.

I have this perfect spot that never fails to amaze me every time I go to Tahoe. It's this lookout point along Highway 28 that's surrounded by boulders and the clear blue water. I always feel such freedom and pure joy hopping and climbing the rocks. It's a place that combines the pure beauty of nature and a sense of peacefulness for me. We have taken ample pictures from this location before, so it only made sense for us to make a tribute to this place on the blog.

Peaceful Weekend

The week leading up to this past weekend did not go as planned. Instead, it was actually out of control madness to say the least. While I am not proud of this, I will admit that I let the stressful situation get the better of me. I was so frustrated with just about everything that was going on in my life, so much so that I was unreasonably close to calling off a pre-planned get away to Tahoe. Luckily, this boyfriend of mine knew just how to let me blow off steam while still successfully persuading me (the only person that could!) to go on the trip. I am thankful he knew just how much I needed to get away. The peaceful weekend out in nature was the perfect touch to turn the horrible week around. So, here's a little thank you to my amazing boyfriend, for a wonderfully peaceful weekend :)

Tuesday Favorites

(Left to Right, Top to Bottom: dog print dress, homemade breakfast, Sunday brunch, classic car show, recent favorites, colorful Dior polishes, homegrown vegetables, Chanel clutches, pistachio break)

Hope everyone all had a great weekend and a good start to the week! Lately for me, it is all about staying cool in this extreme heat wave we are experiencing. I know a lot of you, myself included actually, are already receiving amazing fall catalogs showcasing some amazing fall pieces. While I'm certainly eying and chalking up my wish list for the Fall, the heat (a record108 degrees just the other day!) makes it impossible for me to actually make any purchases. Let's all hope that will change soon, given how I am swooning over all the fall trends everywhere! Hope you all had a Fabulous Tuesday!

Home Ec Class

(Club Monaco t-shirt <similar>, Homemade skirt, Gucci shoes, Celine bag, necklace from Erin Paige boutique, Michael Kors watch, Kate Spade sunnies <loving the white version>, Mossimo hat from Target, Essie polish: cute as a button)

I took Home Ec 101 way back in middle school. Since then, all the basics stuff I have learned has been thrown out the window completely. It wasn't till recently when I saw this amazing fabric while strolling through Jo-Ann's (major craft store) that inspired me to want to learn how to sew again (yes, with a digital sewing machine this time around).

The process wasn't easy, to say the least. I mean, who knew there were so much to learn about a digital sewing machine! But the moment I was actually able to put on a skirt I made myself (just don't look too close at the hem), I was practically twirling throughout the house. Today was the first day I wore my homemade skirt in public, while we headed out for breakfast. The skirt held up nicely, and it sure gave me more motivation to keep learning! Guess I did retain some stuff my teacher taught me  way back in middle school after all.

Hanging out

(Photos by Marcus Lam: website and flickr)

Over the weekend, I got to hang out with Marcus and another great friend of ours. What I was hoping to be a gorgeous day in the city turned out to be cold, dark, and sprinkling. The sprinkling weather made taking pictures outdoor a lot less appealing. Instead, we grabbed breakfast and headed back to hang out at the house. There, in between Photoshop lessons, catching up, and eating a little too much onion bread because that was the only food he had at the house, we were somehow still able to squeeze a photo session in.

I was inspired by a gorgeous black and white picture I came across on Pinterest (my username: Fabuloustuesdays), and decided to try to replicate it. While we didn't end up recreating the photo, we did  come up with some pretty cool shots with the very basics: simple backdrop, easy props (vintage cameras), and comfy outfit. Sometime, uncomplicated pictures are what I love the most. Thanks, Marcus, for a great hangout session! Be sure to check out his website and flickr!

Tuesday Favorites

(Top to Bottom, Left to Right: Pancakes, simple accessories, fresh pasta, my pups, in love with Kate Spade, Olympic spirited cupcake, Saturday morning, fried cheese...., sushi boating)

My lack of productivity continued this past week/weekend, largely due to the Olympic Games. To be honest, I am quite unapologetic for it. The latest routine for me has been coming home from work, greeting the pups, changing into something extra comfy, getting ready for dinner, and curling up on the couch to watch the games non-stop until bed time. Dishes, laundry, dusting, and chores of all kind fell to the wayside. All I can say is, I am turning down all visitors this week (do not visit me at home!). Here are some pictures that I took on my phone over the week, and it certainly seems like the only other thing I did outside of work and glued to the TV was to eat. Happy days! Hope you all have a Fabulous Tuesday!
